	NAA Reveals Biggest Ad Revenue Plunge in More Than 50 Years

	NEW YORK The newspaper industry has experienced the worst drop in advertising revenue in more than 50 years. 

	According to new data released by the Newspaper Association of America, total print advertising revenue in 2007 plunged 9.4% to $42 billion compared to 2006&#8212;the most severe percent decline since the association started measuring advertising expenditures in 1950. 

	The drop-off points to an economic slowdown on top of the secular challenges faced by the industry. The second worst decline in advertising revenue occurred in 2001 when it fell 9.0%.

	Total advertising revenue in 2007&#8212;including online revenue&#8212;decreased 7.9% to $45.3 billion compared to the prior year.

You can also delve deeper into the lifecycle of your videos, like how long it takes for a video to become popular, and what happens to video views as popularity peaks. 

	How does this help you? Well, using these metrics, you can increase your videos&#8217; view counts and improve your popularity on the site. AT&amp;#38;T will become the first company in the world to bring Microsoft Surface to life in a retail environment, giving customers the ability to explore their mobile worlds using touch and device recognition technology. Microsoft Surface is the first commercially available surface computer from Microsoft. Beginning April 17, customers can experience Microsoft Surface in select AT&amp;#38;T retail locations, including stores in New York City, Atlanta, San Antonio and San Francisco. 	Analysts: US consumers like HDTVs better than HD programming

	Fully 41 percent of TV owners in the US now possess a high definition TV, yet only 56 percent of those same consumers subscribe to an HD programming package, according to a new survey by ABI Research.

	Together with other analysts&#8217; statistics, ABI&#8217;s findings about HDTV ownership seems to indicate that interest in HD is finally on the rise in the United States. In research released last summer, for example, In-Stat discovered that interest in HD had actually fallen over the previous year among US consumers, while increasing in other countries, particularly France and South Korea. 

	But in a survey unveiled just before CES 2008 last January, the Consumer Electronics Association found a &#8220;big screen TV&#8221; took third place&#8212;just after &#8220;computer&#8221; and &#8220;peace and happiness&#8221;&#8212;among items that parents would like to receive as holiday items. The previous year, &#8220;big screen TV&#8221; landed in only the eleventh spot on the same question in the same survey. Full Story :: Click Here

New Entry in Space Tourism Industry
Calif. Aerospace Company Unveils New Rocket for Space Tourism

	A California aerospace company plans to enter the space tourism industry with a two-seat rocket ship capable of suborbital flights to altitudes more than 37 miles above the Earth.

	The Lynx, about the size of a small private plane, is expected to begin flying in 2010, according to developer Xcor Aerospace, which planned to release details of the design at a news conference Wednesday.

	The company also said that, pending the outcome of negotiations, the Air Force Research Laboratory has awarded it a research contract to develop and test features of the Lynx. No details were released.Full Story :: Click Here

	&lt;p&gt;A California aerospace company plans to enter the space tourism industry with a two-seat rocket ship capable of suborbital flights to altitudes more than 37 miles above the Earth.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;The Lynx, about the size of a small private plane, is expected to begin flying in 2010, according to developer Xcor Aerospace, which planned to release details of the design at a news conference Wednesday.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;The company also said that, pending the outcome of negotiations, the Air Force Research Laboratory has awarded it a research contract to develop and test features of the Lynx. Sail-powered cargo ship test results in: It cut fuel by 20 percent

	The MV Beluga SkySails, a cargo ship rigged up with a billowing 160-meter sail from SkySails, used approximately 20 percent less fuel than it would have without the sail during a two-month voyage. Put another way, that&#8217;s 2.5 tons of fuel, or $1,000 a day, in operating costs. Beluga Shipping ultimately hopes to save $2,000 a day with the technology. 

	The ship left Bremen, Germany, on the 22nd of January, sailed to Venezuela, and then headed toward the Norwegian port of Mo-I-Rana, docking on March 13. In all, the ship sailed 11,952 nautical miles. The sail was up, depending on the winds, from between 5 minutes and 8 hours a day.Full Story :: Click Here

	Survey: Big decline seen in US consumer tech spending

	With an American economy that is becoming increasingly unstable, thanks largely to the credit crunch and the return of inflation, consumers appear to be closing their purse strings tightly when it comes to tech purchases.

	Only 19% of 4,427 consumers polled late last month say they will spend more on tech gadgets in the next 90 days, versus 33% who will spend less, according to a study released Tuesday by ChangeWave Research of US consumers. While the number of consumers saying they would not spend as much has remained rather constant, those spending more has not.

	During November, nearly four out of every ten consumers said they would spend more, but this had dropped to 27% by January. With increasing consumer unease, it appears as if conditions for the CE market are bound to only get worse.Full Story :: Click Here

	&lt;p&gt;The MV Beluga SkySails, a cargo ship rigged up with a billowing 160-meter sail from SkySails, used approximately 20 percent less fuel than it would have without the sail during a two-month voyage. Put another way, that&amp;#8217;s 2.5 tons of fuel, or $1,000 a day, in operating costs. Beluga Shipping ultimately hopes to save $2,000 a day with the technology. &lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;The ship left Bremen, Germany, on the 22nd of January, sailed to Venezuela, and then headed toward the Norwegian port of Mo-I-Rana, docking on March 13. In all, the ship sailed 11,952 nautical miles. 	&lt;p&gt;With an American economy that is becoming increasingly unstable, thanks largely to the credit crunch and the return of inflation, consumers appear to be closing their purse strings tightly when it comes to tech purchases.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;Only 19% of 4,427 consumers polled late last month say they will spend more on tech gadgets in the next 90 days, versus 33% who will spend less, according to a study released Tuesday by ChangeWave Research of US consumers. While the number of consumers saying they would not spend as much has remained rather constant, those spending more has not.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;During November, nearly four out of every ten consumers said they would spend more, but this had dropped to 27% by January.
